In 1998, Eko Club New York (ECNY) was founded by a select group of friends with ties to Lagos State, Nigeria. The organization’s original mission of promoting the cultural heritage of Lagos in the New York metropolis, and providing charitable support to the less privileged population in Lagos State has since evolved. ECNY actively participate in charitable service provision in the New York, USA metropolis.
Over the years, ECNY has continued to provide various humanitarian services to the less privileged in our communities:
- health fairs
- food drives/donations
- clothing/toy drives/donations
- scholarship awards
- medical missions
- renovation of schools
- provision of computer laboratory
- monetary and non-monetary donations
Today, as a 501(c)3 charitable organization, ECNY has been positioned to receive contributions from individuals and corporate bodies. Such donations to ECNY are tax deductible under section 170 of the IRS code.
With your support, ECNY will continue to provide charitable services to the less privileged – without discrimination, in the nature of coordination of the procurement and distribution of:
- Assembled medical services, e.g. health fairs and medical missions
- Food and gift items
- Non-monetary contributions to charities and non-profits
- Educational, social and welfare services
- Medical equipment and supplies
- Volunteer programs and community service projects

Finally, membership of the organization is selective and open to well-meaning individuals, who share the desire to help make the world a better place!
